Really happy that another semester is finished and I survived my finals! Running to lectures and studying for tests gave me no time to play around with eyeshadows. I haven’t even had time to really use a couple of my new palettes which I have been so excited about! Every morning I would give myself 10 minutes to do my makeup because of course I always choose sleep over having time to get ready. Even though I never gave myself time I always wanted to still do eyeshadow. One thing I have noticed is that for me light/bright eyeshadows don’t really look the best on me ( I do still like to wear it ) which is why I like to go for dark brown eyeshadows or dark purples most of the time. Smokey eye looks are my favorites but need time. For days I’m running late I like to do a super easy smokey eye look that is very quick to do using only two shades.
The first step I have recently started doing is using eyeshadow primer. I always noticed my eyeshadow disappearing and creasing after a while which never looked good. One day I tried an Urban decay eyeshadow primer sample from Sephora and it changed everything! So happy that I tried it because I actually have seen a difference. When I don’t use it my eyeshadow always creases but when I do use it my eyeshadow stays exactly the same as I put it on even after walking outside in humid rainy weather! I noticed that it also intensifies the pigment of the eyeshadow. With this product you only need to use a little bit to make your eyeshadow look and stay amazing all day! It is definitely worth getting a sample and trying it out!
After applying my primer I start by taking the color ‘Password’ with my real techniques brush. I start at the outer corner of my eye so that most of the pigment is focused on the outer corner. I take that shade all over my lid and blend it so that the color becomes a little lighter as it gets near the inner corner of my eye. You can add more and layer it for more of an intense color. Make sure that you are building up the color and not starting strong because then it will become harder to blend across the lid. Especially since this is a quick look building the color ensures that there isn’t any harsh areas that will take time to fix. Next I like to take a little of ‘Smolder’ and focus this shade only on my outer corner and then blend it. This will help intensify the Smokey eye. I like to use my fingers and blend the edges and smoke it out so that there isn’t any harsh lines or edges. I then take the same ‘Smolder’ shade and apply it on my lower lash line. Applying eyeshadow on the lower lash brings the entire look together especially in a Smokey eye look. For my lower lash line I like to also use the same real techniques brush but I pinch the top with my fingers so that it is easier to apply the shadow closer to my lash line. Blending one last time with a clean brush will make sure that your Smokey eye look is all blended nicely together! To finish it all off you can apply eyeliner and mascara. I normally only like to wear mascara! For my mascara I like to focus it on the outer part of my eye. Both the mascara and the dark shadow on the outer part of my eye gives my eyes an almond shape. All the colors in this eyeshadow palette blend really nicely making it super easy to do a quick Smokey eye with little time. I love doing this easy eyeshadow look that takes no time to do as my everyday on the go makeup look!
I like to pair this eyeshadow look with any nude lip! A few of my favorites at the moment are : Sazan Nude Bobbie brown, Nyx strictly vinyl in the shade sugar mama , or Nyx lingerie in the shade corset!
